ABOUT US

James Mason's is the oldest independent adjusting firm in New York State founded in 1908. We provide adjusting and investigative services to the insurance industry, and our territory consists of all of Long Island, all New York City boroughs, and Westchester County. We have a full staff of qualified & licensed independent adjusters that can meet all of your property and casualty adjusting needs.

 

We currently maintain our office in Huntington, NY. While the company was founded as a property adjusting firm, we have, over the last 22 years, also represented different insurers in handling their liability claims.

REPORTING

We currently transfer all reports and documents electronically in PDF format. A preliminary report is generated within 10 days of receiving an assignment. Status reports are generated 30 days thereafter. 

The preliminary report will include reserve recommendations, comments about the risk, a synopsis of the casualty, and comments on coverage. The preliminary report will also include a PILR if requested and color photos, including a photo of the front of the risk.

COMMUNICATION

While the office is open daily from 8:30am-4:30pm, staff can be reached 24/7 via email or cell phone. The office maintains an after-hours answering machine that gives the caller the option of reaching certain staff via cell phone.


All adjusters and staff have email capabilities.

TECHNOLOGY

We currently employ Xactimate as our estimating program, as well as Xactanalysis when requested.

 

We also utilize an office management program called Filetrac. Filetrac allows the office to become networked and allows us to monitor all claims through a diary system. It allows for all claims activity to be placed in each file so that at any time any employee can open a claim file and respond to any inquiry with detailed information as to exactly where the adjuster is with each file.

DRONE SERVICES

We provide on-demand aerial drone inspection service to assist in assessing damage after an event. This allows us to make better quality inspections in a more timely and efficient way for situations where a roof may be high-pitched or multi-story.

OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY

Our office policy is to contact the insured within 2 hours of receiving their assignment and issuing an acknowledgement to the carrier within that same time period. We attempt to inspect losses within 48 hours of receiving the assignment. If no contact is made within 48 hours, a contact letter is generated in which the carrier is copied.
